{"id":16305,"date":"2020-08-23T22:00:36","date_gmt":"2020-08-23T20:00:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.targetpoint.it\/?p=16305"},"modified":"2024-04-10T11:51:34","modified_gmt":"2024-04-10T09:51:34","slug":"siena-johannesburg-art-gallery-collection","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/targetpoint.it\/en\/siena-johannesburg-art-gallery-collection\/","title":{"rendered":"Siena: Johannesburg Art Gallery Collection"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One of the most awaited exhibitions of modern and contemporary art of Summer\/Autumn 2020 finally opened in Siena: &#8220;Lady Florence Phillips\u2019 Dream &#8211; The Johannesburg Art Gallery collection&#8221;, including impressionists (Monet, Degas), great painters of the nineteenth century English (Turner, Rossetti) and the best of American Pop Art (Lichtenstein and Warhol).<\/p>\n<p><h4><strong>The South African Guggenheim<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The Sienese exhibition brings together over 60 works from South Africa&#8217;s Johannesburg Art Gallery, the main art museum on the African continent, a marvel strongly desired by its founder, Lady Florence Phillips (the South African Guggenheim). Phillips had a great passion for art which she nurtured by purchasing works by great authors of his time.
