Cleaning of a sandblasted glass table top

Sandblasted glass is obtained thanks to the opacity achieved through acid etching: the result is a satin and opaque surface.
Because of this particular feature, this type of glass is more delicate and requires more attention and care in cleaning.
If you want to get perfect results in the cleaning of your sandblasted glass table, you need to follow some precautions and use the most suitable products for this type of surface.

Here are our tips:
Take a soft, dry cloth and wipe it on the glass surface: this will remove the first layer of dust.
Fill a basin with a liter of warm water and a few drops of white wine vinegar. Soak a sponge for glass, squeeze it well and pass it over the entire surface. In case of tough stains you can form a mixture of water and pumice powder (available in all household shops). Put the solution on the sponge and rub the area to be treated. In case of heavily soiled glass, the solution must be replaced several times. Once the operation is complete, rinse thoroughly with clean water. Dry with a soft cloth.

To eliminate grease stains or annoying fingerprints, use a normal glass cleaner. Distribute the product on the surface with a soft, clean and non-frayed white cotton cloth. Do not exert too much pressure, because the eventual abrasion on the glass could create the so-called “cloud effect”. Proceed in this operation until the detergent is evenly dried.

Attention: if you use detergent sponges, use only those which were specifically conceived for glass (ex. Scotch Brite 3M with blue or white felt, never green) and never use alkaline solutions, acids and fluoride-based products.
