Mountain chalet: between comfort, tradition and design

For those wishing to indulge in sweet relax and be pampered by absolute comfort, here are five of the best mountain chalets in Trentino – South Tyrol Region (Italy). With a particular focus on design and service quality.

Hafling Chalet, Avelengo (BZ)

Not far from Meran, on the “southern balcony of the Alps”, lies the Leckplått Chalet in Haflinge: on two floors with 135 square meters, it offers six to eight beds, two bathrooms, kitchen and living room. The furnishings include a traditional South Tyrolean “Stube” covered in pine, larch and spruce; the Bauernofen stove; a kitchen with all modern comforts.
Just outside, the rocky wine tasting cellar, the sauna, the playhouse, and the garden.

Among the services included:

Welcome pack with typical regional products and crafts, free use of the outdoor sauna, the Weber gas grill, all board games, PS3 with various games, books, and the public swimming pool opened by May to September..

San Lorenzo White Deer, San Lorenzo di Sebato (BZ)

The White Deer is chalet of historic value, whose restructuration was carried out in collaboration with the local Architectural and Artistic Heritage Bureau in compliance with the original conditions and characteristic elements of the building. In fact, this ancient 16 century hunting lodge is a perfectly balanced mix of tradition and comfort. Among the most striking examples: the fir wood stube that combines design and traditional furnishings, the masonry stove, the bench that runs along the walls, the living room with fireplace and furnishings in soft fabrics – the right angle where to relax and enjoy a well-deserved rest.

Among the services included:
Outdoor swimming pool, sauna, Turkish bath; continental breakfast and tea time; dinner by a local chef; free access to private golf.

Edelweiss Chalet, Val Senales (BZ)

This little village consisting of mountain huts is located in an idyllic location near Vernago. 12 design chalets of equal size, furnishings, and structure are available for rent. Each of these has a spectacular view of the mountains and Lake Vernato. The decor is characterized by a luxury with an absolutely sober taste – thanks above all to the elegance of the furnishings, the warmth of the materials and the upholstery in Loden.

Among the services included:
Full breakfast, a 5-course dinner menu, free access to the alpine-style wellness area.

Alpenrose Bionatur Chalet, Peio (BZ)

The Alpenrose mountain chalet s an 18th century farmhouse in the beautiful Val di Sole, recently renovated respecting the typical Tyrolean characteristics and with the parameters of the most modern green buildings. The location is not less impressive: this mountain chalet is in fact immersed in the nature of the Stelvio National Park, in the relaxing area of Cogolo di Pejo. Chalets, suites and rooms are dedicated to the purest Trentine tradition – with strictly massive wood beds (larch, fir, stone pine or Swiss pine, depending on the room). But the added value of the place is (also) in the natural cuisine of chef Tiziano, based on genuine ingredients, selected meats, alpine herbs and aromas.

Among the services included:
Private minibus to accompany guests on the nearby ski slopes of Pejo 3000 and on the slopes of Madonna di Campiglio, gourmet cuisine (rooms are half board).

Roenn Chalett, Corvara in Badia (BZ)

A mountain house and an elegant and modern mountain chalet of recent construction. The house is on four floors – with lift – , and offers warm and elegant spaces typical of South Tyrol. All the rooms of the chalet are furnished in brushed spruce wood and according to the contemporary alpine style, with attention to chic and elegance. For example the comfortable lounge area on the ground floor, the adjacent dining room with great views over Colfosco and Corvara, or the outdoor patio, ideal for an aperitif in total relaxation.

Among the services included:
Satellite TV, mini bar, ski room with locker and boot warmer.
