The Louvre cruise

A surprise for many cruise and art lovers: the Louvre has signed an agreement with the cruise company Ponant for two trips in the Mediterranean from Europe and the Persian Gulf. The two cruises will touch some of the most beautiful cities in the World and will have as guides the expert curators of the famous Parisian museum.

Two cruises

The Louvre cruises will set sail not before summer 2020. But, in the meantime, it is already possible to visit the Ponant site and discover prices and itineraries.
Here is a summary.

Cultural jewels of the Adriatic

The first cruise will leave in August 2020, with the name “Cultural jewels of the Adriatic” and will be a 10-day journey: Athens – Itea – Otranto – Bari – Kotor – Split – Ancona – Ravenna – Venice. Among the best: the visit to the Apulian trulli, the Kotor bay (UNESCO World Heritage) and the Diocletian’s Palace in Split.

Treasures of the Persian Gulf

The second cruise will sail instead in November 2020, with the name “Treasures of the Persian Gulf” and will be a 9-day itinerary: Muscat (in Oman), Sur, Khasab, Doha, the island of Sir Bani Yas, Abu Dhabi, Dubai. The most precious treasures of this cruise will certainly be: the “fiords of Arabia” near Khasab, the Souq Wakif in Doha, the nature reserve of Sir Bani Yas and the new Louvre in Abu Dhabi.
